On the 12th March 2020, we had an Open Café about stereotypes. We wanted to introduce the topic in an informal way, so we decided to ask people to draw on a paper what were stereotypes according to them and then to explain their drawing to the group. It was interesting because we all came from different countries such as: Brazil, Indonesia, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Afghanistan, Sweden and Spain.
We could learn what people’s points of view on stereotypes were, whether they were true or false according to them. Some people also decided to see them as positive and representative of their country. It allowed us to share more about our countries and the realities behind the “tourist’s perspective”.
