Between 8-13 September, 3 participants from MEXPERT took part in the PLAY-IN training! Take a look below for a blog post from one of the participants.
My training experience in Valencia!
Hello, there!
I don’t really know how to start. So many
things happened being an intern in Sweden! A very great thing is that I had a 5
days training experience opportunity to go in Valencia for the Play-In project.
Was amazing there! The Play-In project is a social program that Promote the
collective construction between European social entities and youth of more
inclusive positions, against racism and xenophobia in Europe.
In this project were people from Italy,
Cyprus, Greece, Czech Republic, Spain and of course, Sweden! Some of the
activities that we played are: “Identity lens”, “Potato’s dilemma”, “Tell me,
what is migration”, “Hidden and Visible parts of our identity”, “The most
beautiful of us”. All this activities were created for working with the refugee
people, so they can be integrated with other people, supporting them and
empathizing with them. We played the activities together and all the countries
were grouped, so we also learned about each other.
One of the game activity that I really enjoyed
and learned something from it was the “Potato’s dilemma” activity. This
activity is about picking a potato and thinking about it as a person. Each
potato has its own story. We also had to create a background story for the
potato. The meaning of the activity represent the refugees that we focus on and
the story of life that each one of them has. By playing the game we remembered
that we are same and all of us has human rights. Another great thing being
there was that we enjoyed the beach and the water. The weather was in our
advantage! Also, we had a boat day. We traveled in a beautiful nature place
with the boat. Was so nice. The food that we ate was really great and a lot of
it. In the last day of my experience I had Spanish traditional food with
seafood. Yum yum!
The main thing that this project was about is
creating awareness actions for the social inclusion, migrants and
refugees in Europe.
What do you think? Me, i would choose spending
my entire life with this kind of projects and learning about everything!
Thank you Mobilizing Expertise for this amazing beautiful experience!
