Recently Mobilising Expertise hosted a cultural cafe about the topic of ‘Swedishness’ the cafe was a success with people coming and sharing their stories of how they felt about Sweden when they first arrived, and how some people thought that it would be more stereotypical than it actually was.
The discussion was interspersed with drink and biscuits, as well as a game or two, such as locating different towns and regions inside Sweden, such as Skåne and towns like Lund or Malmö.
After this was completed the cafe was then talking about how different communication was compared to their native country and we asked everyone to give examples of how this can differ from a simple handshake, to some countries barely saying hello.
