Our Projects

We have accumulated a vast experience over the years.

About the project:

“EMPOWER IDENTITIES – explore the potential of creative learning” is an Erasmus+ funded project in the field of youth. The aim of the project is to identify and share performing and visual arts that promote creative learning across Europe. The project will produce a free toolkit with a collection of relevant educational tools and materials.

Arts can contribute to community cohesion, structural integration and social change. It can break down language barriers, promote self-esteem and facilitate the expression of emotions and the processing of traumatic experiences. These needs have been made even more evident by the global pandemic and urgent to address.

Our project EMPOWER IDENTITIES focuses on performing and visual arts that support creative learning to build resilience for change and promote social inclusion. In addition, there is a constant need for youth workers to share ideas and learn from each other in order to adopt and implement new methods, especially in situations like migration, racism, radicalisation or unforeseen changes such as the pandemic, which may not have been the focus of youth workers’ daily work before. Crises can be be painful and violent experiences, but they carry the opportunity for transformation. Art and culture can be a good help in dealing with change.

The project not only draws attention to the positive influence of art in general, but also raises awareness for the art and culture scene, which has been strongly affected by the current pandemic.

Current status:

After the official project start, the first transnational project meeting took place in digital form. As it was not clear at the time of planning whether it would be possible to hold a physical meeting, the consortium decided to hold a digital meeting. At the meeting, the participating young people had time to get to know the other young people and the other organisations, and two best practice examples from Germany were presented. Jan Gierlich from ArtAsyl presented among others the project “ArtBuddy” from Cologne/Rhineland.
Our second project meeting took place as planned from 09.11.-10.11.2022 in Lund, Sweden. The partners were accompanied by a youngster who supported us as group leader on the conception and preparation of our blended learning activity next year (28.02.2022-04.03.2022).

In Lund we had the opportunity to participate in an art workshop where we presented our goals for the future artistically and without words. The workshop was based on the Swedish Arts Council’s method to help young people with and without an migrant background to develop language, musicality and visual arts to better express themselves.
We were also able to look at a large selection of sketches, models and pictures from Sweden and the world at Skissernas Museum (Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art), which focuses on artistic creative processes.
We are now searching for participants and looking forward to the youth mobility!
